Enjoy Every Crumb

A few days ago Adrienne and I made Christmas cookies together. We made the dough, waited while it hardened in the fridge, rolled it out, cut it with our cookie cutters, baked them, and then decorated the delicious smelling treats with her daddy. I try not to take precious moments like these for granted. But sometimes I do.

Like when Adrienne dumped a mound of sprinkles on her plate while we were "panking" the cookies, or when I looked at the icing drizzled floor. Each time I bit my tongue, reminding myself she will only be two for one more week. Just one. more. week.

::sigh::

Time goes by so fast. And you never know what this beautifully scary world we live in has to offer. So, hug your babies, hold them so very tight, and remember to always soak each second in.

Yesterday was one of those eye openers that I'll always remember. One that is making me loose more and more faith in this so called humanity. We live in a world that has more bullying, violence, and killing than love and compassion. And that is so very effed up.

Stop all this hate.

Sending all the positive vibes I can muster to everyone in Newtown, Connecticut, and around the world, who have lost people they love.

DIY Cupcake Ornaments Revisited

I made these adorable cupcake ornaments for my child's first birthday to use as party favors. They were super easy to make and the fun factor was definitely there. I even made a batch for our tree, and two seasons later, they still look yummy. So, go get your Martha Stewart on.

Safety Scarf Giveaway

I've always wanted a little scarf for Adrienne to rock in the winter. Last year I finally found a mini Missoni scarf at Target. Except the thing is for eight year old kids, not a two year old. I made her wear it anyways, in hopes of keeping her warm and crossed my fingers that it didn't end up tangled around her neck. Well, I succeeded in keeping her around for another year, scarf and all.

So, this is where Tai and Trey Designs, an awesome company who created a kid friendly neck wear comes into play. They thought of a genius idea. Baby and toddler neck candy that's actually safe! Why can't I come up with this ish? I. don't. know.

They sent Adrienne a medium sized scarf to try out. I was a little confused when I received this Safety Scarf. I didn't know if the velcro should go in the back or front, but after a few minutes of playing with it (and confirmation from the brand) the velcro goes in front. Actually, I don't think there is a wrong way to wear this. Just slap that guy around your tiny sized human's neck and be done with it. And no worrying about it choking out your kiddo. Win/win.

We had an impromptu photo session that started off norm then got really silly. This kid.

Adrienne is wearing the Carlton Safety Scarf. It totally looks like a mini infinity scarf on my child. Such the fashionista! We went out to eat for dinner after taking those photos, and she kept saying, "My neck is sooo worm!!"  I'm glad kiddo. She looked so phresh while wearing this scarf that it was ridic. Why can't I have her life? Thank you Tai and Trey Designs for keeping so many baby necks warm worm.

Thanksgiving

This past Thanksgiving was lovely as ever. We spent it with my dad, in my hometown. Adrienne absolutely loves it there. What kid wouldn't? She can get away with eating ice cream at eleven o'clock at night, popcorn for breakfast, rides four-wheelers and gets to drive combine harvesters, picks fresh pears and pecans 'til the cows come home, gets horse-riding lessons from her cousin, receives whatever toy her little heart desires, and gets all the attention she craves. Phew. Now Mommy, on the other hand, gets to have a spoiled child who won't listen for ish when we get back home. Trying to get her in a routine again? That takes weeks. I mean, who could blame her? I wouldn't want to come home to the real world either.

Here are some snippets of our trip. The photos are mostly of food and my adorable tiny sized human. Natch.

We had a wonderful time visiting with family. I hate living so far away from them. Meh. Adrienne wore a Gap Kids dress and an Old Navy yellow cardigan. Her black glitter shoes are Faded Glory and her black sweater is from The Children's Place. She also wore Old Navy jeans and boots. Her Huffy 12-Inch Girls Disney Princess Bike (Shimmer Pink/Glitter Pink) was a surprise from her Pappy.
