They post a picture up of an item with a limited number available, then people can name the price they want to pay. If you are one of the luckies, you get that item for a fraction of the retail cost. Easy peasy.

Ball and Chain have provided me with my own taste of their beautiful pieces. My fav would have to be the seed bead necklace. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always had a thing for these tiny beads. I'd make my own necklaces and bracelets, spending hours upon hours making them, then wear them until they literaterally broke. Thousands of seed beads on the floor doesn't really make the parents happy. Natch.
