Adrienne

Can I just talk about how my child is some kind of serious? Good. I never know what's going to come out of her mouth. She can sing her whole alphabet, spell her name, and count to 15 in Spanish (thanks Dora!), not always on cue, only when she really wants to. But when I ask her to do something (like after repeating myself four times) she says, "Oh muh gowsh mama, AL-WHITE. I hear youwa." ::blank stare:: She is two almost three. Two almost three year olds aren't even supposed to be able to talk. Oh. They are? I didn't know. This is my first rodeo.

Adrienne is a people person. She makes just about anyone smile from ear to ear. When she stomps into a room, the inhabitants are immediately captivated by her aura. Those people turn into her audience and she puts on a magnificent show.

That said, she's is also bilingual. She knows English and Dance. She can get down like no other child I've seen. She was born into music. Her daddy is a musician, so it's naturally in her blood. As soon as those little ears hear any kind of beat, her ocean colored eyes sparkle so bright, and she cuts a mini sized rug. A hilarious one at that.

She can also throw a horrendous temper tantrum. Like her head turning all the way around tantrum. Projectile vomit and everything. But a split nano second later say, "Hey, Mommy? Mommy. I love our house," just out of the blue. And like magic, my wanting to drown myself in red wine is gone. My heart gets all warm and fuzzy like, and the need to hug and eat her cheeks envelopes me. Those are the moments I drink in.

No, actually I devour each and every moment, the good and the bad. Even in times of pure sass like I captured in the photo above. Adrienne is so awesome and brilliant  She's just a cool kid. And boy, is she beautiful. I'm so very lucky that I'm her mom.

Baby Showers on The Forecast

Since yesterday's post was about baby showers, I thought I should naturally make today's post about the same thing. Makes sense. A few weeks ago, I went to one of my bestie's baby shower. She lives about an hour and a half away, so I don't get to see her nearly enough. ::sad face::

Em is such a beautiful lady. I never see her mad. She radiates sunshine on the reg. Her laugh is nonstop and loud, but super contagious. It's like, come on, I don't want your viral giggles right now. Okay. I do. I really do. I miss them.

I still can't believe I'm a mom and she's about to be one. We used to run the music streets, without a care in the world. Our faces would be covered with glitter, we'd rage all nighters, then drive to the next show and repeat the process. Now my process is trying to down coffee before my nerves are shot, then making it through the whole day until bedtime.

I love you, Em, and baby H more then you could ever imagine. You will make a beautiful parent. That baby girl is going to be one cool kid. She will no doubt take after her momma.

And remember baby H, have fun with this life. Soar. Spread your fairy wings. If you need help finding those wings, ask your mom. She has plenty of extras ;]

Hullabalu and Baby Jabwar

My child's crib is basically a stuffed animal cage. She has her most prized buddies in there and cannot close her eyes without them all snuggled next to her. She has Pup Pup, Kit Kit, Neigh Neigh, Light Light, Brobee, Baby Huggums, and Bitty Baby. If I put a rando toy in her crib, she freaks her freak. Only those named are the privileged ones.

Well now there's a newcomer. He goes by the name Baby Jabwar (because "jabwar" is the way my two year old pronounces jaguar, and I'll forever call them by that name). This amazing online toy company called Hullabalu, let my child have her pick from about 25 different stuffed animals on their website. We went through all the animals about ten times, and Adrienne picked out "Baby Jabwar" each go 'round. She is obsessed with Go Diego Go, and loves the jaguar on the show. So, natch she wanted her own, even though in actuality, Baby Jabwar is a baby tiger. I just didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.

We told her the UPS man was going to bring her a baby jabwar. Anytime there was a knock at the door my child started screaming, "DSma'am is here!! My Baby Jabwar!!" Finally her little dreams came true. The "DSma'am" left a light blue box at our doorstep.

Hullabalu is super brand new. They offer great hand picked stuffed animals and awesome storylines for each character. One little stuffed fox, named Tipple Glamwheel, had in his description that he "Doesn't understand Skrillex lyrics." I was immediately won over. I don't get dubstep at all, period. I guess I'm just too old and that's what happens when you get too old. Meh.

Hullabalu's site is invitation only like Gilt or My Habit. You basically have to be a cool kid. If you want to be popular and shop for a lovable stuffed animal for your kiddo when they open their site's doors on October 1st, you've come to the right place. I'm giving you guys your own invitation! Go HERE to get your pass. Even if you don't have kids, you still need to check out these stuffed animals. The website itself is pretty stellar.

Here are the photos I snapped of Adrienne opening up Baby Jabwar.

The whole internet just crashed from that cuteness overload, and it's entirely Hullabalu's fault.

Needless to say, Baby Jabwar resides in my child's crib every night. He is a wonderful companion and is snuggly and so very soft. He has weighted feet, so when it's tea party time, Baby Jabwar sits alert in the chair ready for his crumpets. Or whatever is on the menu during a tea party.

Don't forget to go HERE to get your invite. I just want to thank Hullabalu for gifting my child with a stuffed animal that'll be a life long companion. One that she will take to college and one that she will pass on to her first child. ::tear:: Thanks for that.

Post Script- Here are four of the mentioned seven friends my child sleeps with every night, just in case you wanted to know. Pup pup is a stuffed dog my dad gave Adrienne when she was a baby, and Neigh Neigh is a Pottery Barn Kids stuffed horse.

Mom Problems and A Winner

Stopping in real quick like and sharing some photos of my kiddo trying to help me with the groceries. I won't be around these parts tomorrow. I'm having a yard sale. Gonna try my hardest to hustle some old junk.

I love the progression of these pictures. The proof that she's getting more and more independent as the days go by. She can carry a bag of oranges. What's next? Her telling me she doesn't need to sleep with her pink bankit? I'm clutching my imaginary pearls and weeping from the thought of that.

My little helper. I almost feel naked if I don't have her by my side. She is my partner in crime. She's my shadow. Where I go, she goes. I love that feeling. That feeling of a tiny sized human needing me. And I need her. More than she could ever imagine. I know one day that will change. She won't want to tag along with me on the reg. She will be too busy or too cool to go pick up some laundry detergent with her mom. I'll have to go by myself. And on that drive there, with no toddler in a car seat behind me, I'll want to rewind back to these moments.

A big congrats to Kayla for winning the Tulle & Twig giveaway! I will be contacting you later in the day! Don't forget to enter to win some jewelry from Ball and Chain! Enter HERE!
