Bitty Baby [American Girl]

Today is the day! American Girl has reveled their brand new Bitty Baby! Joy of joys. I know.

Last week, American Girl sent Adrienne a gorgeous brown (looks more like black) haired Bitty of her very own. If you have been reading my blog for a good bit now, which all of you should have and shame on you if you haven't, you'd know we love dolls. I probably love dolls a little more than Adrienne, but, well, who cares.

Anylivingvicariouslythroughmychild, American Girl has launched a brand new Bitty Baby, featuring 11 different dolls to choose from, trumping the previous 7. Bitty Baby also comes with a new pink and white sleeper, a hard-cover book, and a little plush star. Gone are the days of the Bitty Baby Bear and that makes me sad. But the new story book sort of makes up for the disappearing bear. These new books are gorgeous. They are actual story books for little girls instead of board books for Bitty.

In addition to all of the changes, American Girl also dropped a whole new line of accessories and furniture for the baby dolls. Like actual wooden furniture. Finally. We currently have the old plastic Bitty Baby canopy bed and highchair. I can't believe I spent what I did on those two pieces and they aren't even wooden. What you do for your kids never ceases to amaze. So, bravo American Girl, for making more high-end furniture. With more quality things, the prices have, of course, gone up. The furniture is pretty pricey and the new Bitty Baby currently retails for $80, whereas the previous Bitty retailed at $55.

Adrienne received her first blonde-haired Bitty Baby from the Easter Bunny when she was two. For a year and a half, that Bitty Baby has gone so many places with her and hasn't missed one night of sleep in her bed. They just are tight like that.

So, now this new Bitty Baby has been thrown into the mix. I was a little worried the old Bitty would suddenly loose an eyeball and start walking around trying to dump the new Bitty into the garbage. I mean, hello, Toy Story 3. Nothing has happened yet.

The old Bitty still sleeps in the princess's bed. The new Bitty sleeps in the Bitty Baby bed. All is well.

A Bitty Baby is well worth the money. These dolls withstand the test of time and last way past childhood, making them great to pass down to other generations. I've had my American Girl Kirsten since I was eight. And she still looks brand new. I applaud this great company for making so many little girl's lives magical.

Egg Baby WINNER

I needed this past weekend.

We traveled to our neighboring city to spend the day shopping. Hey-oh. It was pretty much a huge success. I came home with two pairs of new shoes for me and a white pitcher. Adrienne came home with a sleeping beauty costume, wand, shoes, and crown. Because she is obviously a princess. And William came home with Legos. I guess the latter is for him and Adrienne. ::side eye::

Mother's days was awesome. I woke up to a tiny cacti and an Adrienne painted flower pot with a beautiful lilly planted in it. William had a breakfast feast cooked and we pigged. We hit up Goodwill after. I scored a baby doll from my past and a Bitty Baby twin doll for Adrienne. She was like, "Meh," but I literally freaked my freak. The Bitty Baby had some pen marks on her little face, but at 99 cents I couldn't pass her up. I did get some of the pen marks off with a magic eraser. If you guys have any other pen removal tips, feel free to let me know.

I didn't even open my computer once this weekend. I feel bad because I said I was going to announce the winner of the Egg giveaway on Saturday. I'm super sorry. So, without further ado,

Congrats Lauren O.! You have won your choice of garment from Egg! I will be emailing you soon! Thanks to everyone else who entered! Don't forget to try your luck out on Coffee and Cashmere's current giveaway.

A huge thanks to Egg for creating such beautiful children's clothing.

I hope all of you mamas had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend! xoxo

Pizza Parlay

My child loves being a little mommy. She will straight up put her babies in time out if they sass her and halfway change their diapers if they pretend poop. She'll also whip up a delish supper of chicken fries and ketchup cornbread with pizza for "zerts." What more could one ask for?

I'm pretty sure Miss Spider spiked Bitty Baby's juicy juice.

The adorable hand painted wooden pizza set with juice boxes (that we play with daily) is c/o Forever Afters. The set even comes with a tiny wooden pizza server and it's own cardboard box. Be sure to check them out for beautifully handcrafted wooden toys.

Hullabalu and Baby Jabwar

My child's crib is basically a stuffed animal cage. She has her most prized buddies in there and cannot close her eyes without them all snuggled next to her. She has Pup Pup, Kit Kit, Neigh Neigh, Light Light, Brobee, Baby Huggums, and Bitty Baby. If I put a rando toy in her crib, she freaks her freak. Only those named are the privileged ones.

Well now there's a newcomer. He goes by the name Baby Jabwar (because "jabwar" is the way my two year old pronounces jaguar, and I'll forever call them by that name). This amazing online toy company called Hullabalu, let my child have her pick from about 25 different stuffed animals on their website. We went through all the animals about ten times, and Adrienne picked out "Baby Jabwar" each go 'round. She is obsessed with Go Diego Go, and loves the jaguar on the show. So, natch she wanted her own, even though in actuality, Baby Jabwar is a baby tiger. I just didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.

We told her the UPS man was going to bring her a baby jabwar. Anytime there was a knock at the door my child started screaming, "DSma'am is here!! My Baby Jabwar!!" Finally her little dreams came true. The "DSma'am" left a light blue box at our doorstep.

Hullabalu is super brand new. They offer great hand picked stuffed animals and awesome storylines for each character. One little stuffed fox, named Tipple Glamwheel, had in his description that he "Doesn't understand Skrillex lyrics." I was immediately won over. I don't get dubstep at all, period. I guess I'm just too old and that's what happens when you get too old. Meh.

Hullabalu's site is invitation only like Gilt or My Habit. You basically have to be a cool kid. If you want to be popular and shop for a lovable stuffed animal for your kiddo when they open their site's doors on October 1st, you've come to the right place. I'm giving you guys your own invitation! Go HERE to get your pass. Even if you don't have kids, you still need to check out these stuffed animals. The website itself is pretty stellar.

Here are the photos I snapped of Adrienne opening up Baby Jabwar.

The whole internet just crashed from that cuteness overload, and it's entirely Hullabalu's fault.

Needless to say, Baby Jabwar resides in my child's crib every night. He is a wonderful companion and is snuggly and so very soft. He has weighted feet, so when it's tea party time, Baby Jabwar sits alert in the chair ready for his crumpets. Or whatever is on the menu during a tea party.

Don't forget to go HERE to get your invite. I just want to thank Hullabalu for gifting my child with a stuffed animal that'll be a life long companion. One that she will take to college and one that she will pass on to her first child. ::tear:: Thanks for that.

Post Script- Here are four of the mentioned seven friends my child sleeps with every night, just in case you wanted to know. Pup pup is a stuffed dog my dad gave Adrienne when she was a baby, and Neigh Neigh is a Pottery Barn Kids stuffed horse.
