Saige Paints the Sky Review [American Girl]

In addition to sending us a doll, American Girl also graciously allowed us to screen their new movie, Saige Paints the Sky, before the public even sees it. I pretty much felt like American Girl royalty.

The movie goes along with their Girl of the Year doll, Saige Copeland. You probably already know my views on this company from reading my last post. True Life: I'm an American Girl addict.

One night last week we decided to pop some popcorn, get some drinks, turn the surround sound on, and settle in for a family cuddle puddle. Side note: Adrienne said Saige had to have her own popcorn bowl as she doesn't do well with sharing any type of food.

The movie is super heartwarming. It's basically about a young girl who goes through the normal life hardships at that age; losing a best friend, things not going her way, overcoming stage fright. Those are the norms, right? Pretty sure. She also leans heavily on her grandmother, who is played by none other than Dr. Quinn herself, Jane Seymour.

The movie also centers around Saige's love for art, horse-riding, and singing. By the way, the soundtrack is adorable. Cute, girly little songs and such. Valuable life lessons are also included at no extra charge!

But, I'm not going to lie, Adrienne lasted about ten minutes, tops, before her tiny attention span moved on to coloring and then on to wanting to find Saige some pajamas. The movie is definitely geared towards the seven to twelve year crowd.

Anyilovebeingamoviecritic, this film was really sweet. Would I watch it again? Probably not. Would my nine-year-old self watch it again? Um. Yes. Over and over. It would have stayed in my VCR. Oh, and I legitimately couldn't remember what a VCR was called and had to Google it.

Saige Paints the Sky will be out on DVD and Blu-Ray tomorrow, July 2nd! Be sure to order a copy. It will also air on NBC, July 13th, so there is no excuse not to make your little girl's night.

Blabla Kids

A few weeks ago, two Blabla knitted plushies came to our house. And boy were we happy campers. I say "we" because I fell madly in love with these things, too. I don't know what it is about them. Maybe it's their fat squishy bodies? Maybe it's their cuteness factor? Maybe it's how well made they are? Whatever it is, I'm, err, my child, no wait, we are hooked.

One of the Blabla plushies we received was Celeste. In my opinion she looks just like Adrienne. It's hilarious. She has short brown hair with thick little bangs and blue eyes, just like her new mommy. Plus, they are both pretty plump.

Adrienne was all up in arms because I wouldn't let her play with her new Blablas right away. I know. I'm awful. I had to take their pictures first. There are always rules. After I pried them from my deprived child's hands, I took Celeste and her travel friend River to my room to put them up for just a day or so. I realize that's about twenty years in kid time. #childrenofmommybloggerprobs.

That night, a funny feeling came over me. When I was getting ready for bed I had this strange urge to sleep with these plushies. It was like they were calling out to snuggle. I knew my other half would think I had gone off the deep end, so I didn't bring them into our bed.

Anyohtobeachildagain, I did tip-toe them into Adrienne's bedroom and placed them into her sleeping arms. I felt bad for making her wait to cuddle them. Plus, I just knew they would bring her magical dreams of unicorns and kittens shopping in a toy store. I'm sure they did.

Thank you Blabla for creating such amazing playmates for children.

I've linked this post up with the fabulous Sunny with the Chance of Sprinkles!

Birdhouse

When I started this blog, I started it as a creative outlet. It was a platform to showcase my thoughts, my photographs, my art, my life in general. But the main goal was to eventually make that money money.

It was like choosing my own blogging adventure, and I turned the page to the dollar sign. Hey-oh.

And lately, I've been straight hustling. I've been making money, teaming up with awesome companies, hosting great giveaways, and sharing items I genuinely love. What can I say? I'm a sell out. Get up off me.

I kid. Don't leave.

So, what I'm getting at here is this post has no products to get you to love, just a few photos of straight sweetness. You know, my life in general.

Once Upon a Story GIVEAWAY CLOSED

Congrats Angie B. for winning! I will be emailing you soon! Thanks to all who entered! Be sure to check back this week for another great giveaway!

How sweet are these pictures? I'm so glad it's finally spring summer (because we don't have a spring) weather here. It goes from 40 to 80 degrees, and right now, I'm okay with it. I needs that vitamin Dizzle on my face.

Anythatlastsentencesoundswrong, Once Upon A Story, an extremely wonderful shop on Etsy, sent Adrienne the most perfect mushroom tee in all of the forest. The shroom was hand cut and even hand stitched for the sweetest look. I could just eat this mushroom shirt up. ::side eye:: I mean, all that delicious cuteness.

Once Upon A Story specializes in hand made boy's clothing. From hand stitched and hand printed rowdy t-shirts to handsome little bow-ties, this shop is your go to site. I pretty much picked the girliest thing they had. One can never go wrong with a gender neutral mushroom shirt.

Since I obvs don't have a little boy, I rarely have little boy giveaways. But times are a changing! Well, no, I'm not preggers with a prince, I'm just teaming up with Once Upon A Story to offer one lucky winner their choice of anything valued up to $25! CLOSED

Truly Sanctuary GIVEAWAY CLOSED

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. Congrats Marlene T.! You are the winner of the Truly Sanctuary giveaway!! Lucky you! I will be contacting you asap!

Truly Sanctuary is a t-shirt company that was sick of cutesy graphics. They wanted to make kid tees that are hip and adult tees that are beyond cool. And my fam wanted in on it.

Truly Sanctuary let us choose our favorite tees to try out. Adrienne picked the brunette mermaid t-shirt that she thought looked just like her. I picked the Bill Murray graphic tee, for obvious reasons, and William wanted the Nintendo for life tee.

Let me just tell you, this Bill Murray tee and I are now madly in love with each other. I heart it so hard. Not just because the Billster is my hero, but because this t-shirt is the softest ish I've ever worn. Like I could be homeless and pretty much live in this shirt, having to wear it over and over again. Like Groundhog Day, if you will. And I'd be okay with it.

T-shirts c/o Truly Sanctuary. Adrienne is also wearing a Head Candy crown, Old Navy jelly sandals and skirt. I'm wearing Steve Madden Camarro boots and Forever21 leggings.

Now it's your turn to rock the t-shirt of your choice from Truly Sanctuary! Just log into the Rafflecopter below (or make a new Rafflecopter account), and follow the directions for each entry.
