ProCook Sponsored Post

My child is basically my shadow. Especially in the kitchen. She always wants to help me cook. It doesn't matter what I'm making, she has to do her part. I supervise her part time jobs as the stirrer and pourer. We usually end up with a big mess, but that's what it's all about. Plus, she loves sweeping. Hey-oh. I should milk all this helping out for as long as I can. Amirite or am I right?

Regardless and irregardless at the same time, ProCook, a family-owned online store, has a children's baking set that is on sale right now! That would be perfect for Adrienne's little helping hands. They also have plenty of cookie cutters to choose from! How adorbs are the numbers cookie cutters set? Those are even 40% off! Plus, the only way I can ever save money is to buy stuff on sale. Win slash win.

Weekend Wrap Up

DIP
Mexican dip via William's mom. Always hits the spot. We spent this past weekend with his parents and that equals delicious meals and QFT. That's quality fam time, if you didn't get my abbrevs.

MUSIC
Instruments? She plays them. Canvases? She paints them. Artistic kid? Why, yes. Yes I do.

 SNACK
I have been on a avocado kick for a bit now. They're so yummy and filling. I cut mine up and add garlic powder and drizzle balsamic vinegar over. Tah. Die.

SOMETHING I LOVE
E'nuff said. She is wearing a shirt and vest from Old Navy. Owl hat? I know. Adorbs. It's c/o Head Candy. And just wait til I show you what else I scored from them. I'll show you  swoon  soon.

NEW OBSESSION
As you may know, I have a lip balm addiction. A major one. So, I decided to give these tubes of greatness a try. The flavor doesn't make you wanna eat your lips off, and it's not sticky. The best part is my pout stays hydrated to the max. Buhbye Cherry Chapstick. I am now with Baby Lips and we are in love.

SHOES
My Tory Burch Alexandra driving moccasins have gotten some action this week. They've been in hibernation for quite a while. Alas, so have I.

Candy and Hearts

Something about vintage greeting cards just appeals to me. Anyhoo, today was great. Our little fashion queen woke up to a little Valentine's happy. Some Little Mermaid jammies? Can't go wrong there. I found a Ty Valentine Bear at our Goodwill a bit ago. It brought back many memories of fighting off other fanatic collectors, while trying to get the latest and greatest beanie baby. I remember hearing that people lined up for days outside the store where they were dropping the Princess Diana Ty Bear. They had police officers guarding the door with tasers and mace in hand. Okay. Fine. I made that part up, but that's how I pictured things. People are cray cray.

Adrienne went to church with her grandparents on Sunday. In her little Sunday School class she made this adorbs stained glass tissue paper heart. And she colored on a heart the teacher drew. I just died from The Cuteness. It's a real ailment. I webMD'ed it. These are my first two things she "came home" with. You know. Stuff I didn't make her do because I wanted the memento.

These are her two first Valentine's from her little kiddo friends! I know. I am a sap. I get it. She is just growing up so fast.

I mean, the last time I checked, she looked like this. Stop the growing kid. Freals.

Happy Valentine's  Day  Night to my beautiful family and wonderful friends.

Don't Bust My Balls

Today was hectic. Hectic is usually my norm. I can't even. I'm exhausted. It was sleeting earlier, which hindered my grocery shopping. I was trying to get mentally prepared to go out in the weather, plus brave the Valentine's procrastinators. When I mustered enough courage, I headed out into the unknown. Luckily, I was by myself. No two year old to lasso.

The store was over crowded; it didn't disappoint. I got everything my list told me to, and some extra. As I walked up to the lines upon lines of people waiting to be checked out, I cringed. I hated all these people and myself equally. I prolly dropped a few words I can't mention on here. I'm sure they started with S, F's, and mos def some MF'ers. It was that bad. But, I made it out alive. That's all that really matters.

Switching gears, I just got done making these mighty tasty Valentine's treats for our neighbors and frands. These Oreo Balls, let me tell you. So extremely rich and decadent. But, enough about me. Get ready for Yummy Yummerson.

Oreo Balls (creative)
|| ingredients ||

1 (16oz) package Oreos
1 (8oz) package Cream Cheese
2 (8oz) packages White Chocolate Chips (or reg choc chips)

- Finely crush the whole package of Oreos. Add in the package of cream cheese. Mix those two ingredients together (I used my hands) until well blended. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place on waxed paper and pop into the fridge.

- Melt chocolate according to directions on the back of the bag. Dip into the melted chocolate to cover. Place back on the wax paper to dry. EASY. Store balls in a covered container in the fridge!! Yum.

-UPDATE: I drizzled the white chocolate over the balls instead of dipping. SO. MUCH. BETTER.

Tuna Pats

One of my favorite dinner memories as a kid was when my mom would make tuna patties. I would request those bad boys daily. She would whip them up with cheesy macaroni and broccoli for the sides. I was in hog heaven. I wish I would have gotten all my mother's recipes. She never kept a book of them. They were just always memorized. I did manage to get her tuna patties recipe. And I'm gonna share it.

Mom's Tuna Patties
(I altered it a bit with spices, because, well, I'm a spice head)
|| ingredients ||

6 small cans of Tuna in Water
3 Eggs
1/4 cup chopped Onion
2 packages of Saltine Crackers (I only had one pack, so I added bread crumbs as a substitute)
Garlic Powder
Salt
Pepper
Parsley
Cayenne Pepper
Greek Seasonings (optional)
CURRY (in all caps because it makes the tuna pats)
Worcestershire Sauce
Parmesan Cheese
Oil for frying (I only use sunflower oil now)

- Open cans of tuna and drain. Put in a large mixing bowl. Crack the 3 eggs into bowl. Chop the onion and add. Then pour in crunched up saltines.

- Heat up a frying pan, with about a 1/2 inch of oil in it, to med-high.

- Here's where it gets tricky. I have never been good with measuring out my ingredients. I usually just guesstimate and add. So, I am going to do my best here. Add 2 tsp garlic, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp parsley, 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 1/2 tsp Greek seasonings, 3/4 tsp curry, and about a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Add around 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese.

- Mix everything up with your hands. Form into oval patties. I got about 11 patties out of this batch.

- When the oil is hot, add the patties. Fry on each side about three minutes, or until golden brown. De. Licious.

I used my Pampered Chef Can Opener. I just had to show some pics of how it doesn't leave sharp edges. Perfect if you have kids. You just never know.

  Happy Cooking!!

Sugar Overload

My little fashion queen's second birthday was a huge success last month. I still can't believe she is two. Time sure does fly. She had her two year old check up today, and her pediatrician and nurses couldn't believe she was two either. But they probably say that to every kid. I don't know. This is my first rodeo.

Here are a few of the hundred snapshots of her party.
