Emma Kisstina

Back when I first started my blog, I would do a monthly post where I shared what was in my bag. I pretty much haven't posted one of those in a super long while. hashtagslacker. So, when Emma Kisstina contacted me asking if I would share what was in my bag with her so that she could turn it into art, I jumped at the opportunity.

Emma Kisstina is a talented artist who creates amazing prints featuring timeless brands and items. I've been seriously lusting over her prints for a long time. They exude femininity and class. And I'm so totally honored she did this one for me

I basically sent her a photo of my beloved Louis Vuitton Speedy along with it's contents. I even found a My Little Pony in my purse along with a ton of receipts and loose change. I decided to include the pony, because MY LITTLE PONIES, and exclude the junk.

And then she turned it into this:

I'm in love with this print. It's a keepsake that will always remind me of motherhood.

Raina Hampton Art Giveaway [OVER]

This giveaway is now over! Congrats Christina K.! You have won your very own Raina Hampton original! Thanks to everyone who entered and showed love for this great giveaway.

I'm bringing you guys a brand new giveaway today! I'm super excited to team up with an extraordinarily talented artist named Raina Hampton

Raina is a mom to four beautiful kids by day and a painting machine by night. And, boy, does she churn out some gorgeous pieces. Being raised in the south, Raina's art is a mix of everything found in nature. From birds, to fields of cotton, to stunning fall-kissed trees, everything she creates is eye-catching. Her medium is usually acrylics on homemade canvases that her husband puts together. And these canvases are super thick. They make for an incredible pop on any wall.

I'm so lucky that my home is graced with not one, but two Raina Hampton originals! The first is my all time favorite. Adrienne fell in love with it as soon as she saw it, too. She even said that the little birds were us. #swoon.

The second painting is the incredible abstract one below. He's a pretty big guy, at 24x24 inches, and the colors are super vibrant.

Raina's passion for painting shows in every piece she creates. Her work makes people smile. And now I'm excited to say that one lucky Coffee and Cashmere reader will be beaming. We are giving away a Raina Hampton original! The winner will receive a 6x6 inch bird painting.

For your chance to win, just log into the Rafflecopter below (or make a new Rafflecopter account), and follow the directions for each entry. Please make sure to actually do what's required for each entry. If you just click enter and not do what it's asking, I'll know. If you are unsure how to do one, skip it and contact me. I can't stress this enough. I go back and check to make sure the winner actually did what was required. I will not let cheaters win. DON'T CHEAT. Meh.

Silhouette Man

When I was about six years old, my mother took me to some sort of flea market deal and had me sit perfectly still for a photo of my profile. The woman turned my photo into a black silhouette. My mom LOVED it. I remember thinking it was silly, asking her why she liked it because I had no face. Now I totally get it.

One of my most prized possessions is my daughter's silhouette picture. When I heard that Tim "The Silhouette Man" Arnold was coming to a kid store in town, I made an appointment as fast as my fingers could dial the phone number. I didn't do my research on Mr. Arnold, I just saw silhouette, and wanted to get one before my daughter lost her baby fat.

When I arrived, to my astonishment, he had my little queen sit in my lap, told me it didn't matter if she was still or not, and began cutting out her profile from two pieces of black paper with a pair of scissors. Not what I was expecting at all. My child was moving nonstop, but he cut out her exact profile, even down to her double chin and button nose. And, to top it off, he did this in about two minutes. I was shocked. Squeals of delight, shocked.

He handed me two profile cutouts, I told him that he was a true artist, and I was on my way. Ten minutes, tops. He also does mail orders on his website. Just send in a photo, and he sends it back with the silhouettes.

Simply beautiful. I will treasure this forever.
