Chez Chic

I want to mention our High Roller Sponsor of November, Chez Chic. They specialize in infant and toddler bedding. They also do custom orders.

"We offer custom-made products for infants and toddlers, in a pleasing palette of soft, breathable fabrics. Our fashion, decor, and bedding provide an opportunity for you to add flair and style to your home and create a warm and inviting atmosphere for your children."

Chez Chic sent Adrienne their beautiful Fairy Tale Flannel duvet cover and pillowcase. I'm so in love with this print. The fabric is super soft and warm, with nursery rhyme characters all over. I want to keep my child as young as I can. She can have all those flowered and grown up looking bedspreads when she gets older. I mean, I can't get away with wanting her to have a nursery rhyme printed duvet cover when she is eight. So, I'll do it now. And love every Humpty Dumpty minute of it.

Duvet cover and pillow case in Fairy Tale Flannel by Chez Chic. I want to thank Chez Chic for making such wonderful children bedding and accessories! Bitty Baby doll by American Girl.

Disclaimer 1: Adrienne's bed is never that bare. She, up until recently, slept with ten different things, two blankets, her bedspread, and two pillows. She barely had enough room to sleep. I have gotten her down to three babies, one pillow, her blanket, and comforter. Winning.

Disclaimer 2: My child still sleeps in her crib. And she is about to be three. I told you I'm keeping her as young as possible. She has never tried to climb out of her crib, though. I think she feels comforted and safe in it. And that's fine by me.

Disclaimer 3: My camera is also on the brink. The above pictures ended up so dark. Hopefully Santa will bring me a brand new one! I've been such a good girl!!

Shabby Chic Sunday Gift Guide

I have a thing for toys that are well made. I mean, I'd much rather spend a little extra money to get a wooden toy than a plastic toy that won't last a few rodeos. I'm also really big on imaginative play. With wooden toys, there aren't any batteries to make the toys move and talk. They don't need all that jazz. Wooden toys focus more on simple fun. It teaches kids to use the most of their imagination.

We have a good bit of wooden toys around this house. Two major brands I really love are KidKraft and Melissa & Doug. We have a few dollhouses and a party kitchen made by KidKraft. All of which my child plays with daily. Adrienne has learned her shapes and colors from her Melissa & Doug puzzles and plays for hours in her kitchen with Melissa & Doug pretend food. Okay. Not for hours. About half an hour. But even thirty minutes is a win for me.

So, getting the holiday gift guides started up, I decided to scour Etsy for my favorite wooden toys that would be perfect for any kid this Christmas. Enjoy!

Truffle Fries

Stopping in real quick on this beautiful Saturday afternoon. I don't even want to stay inside for too long. It's like the nature nymphs, or what have you, knew I needed this gorgeous weather that's beaming down rays of warm sunlight. Fist pumps and high fives all around this mother. Because YES.

I know we aren't going to be having too many of these kinds of days left. So let me give you guys a super easy recipe fast like. This dish is one that I don't use measurements. I just taste test. Oh, and my camera died before I could take a picture of the finished product. I wasn't about to wait around to charge my camera before eating these bad boys.

Halloween 3.0

Trick or treating this year was a tad better than last year's. I didn't have to carry a then almost two year old around by myself in the swarms of candy fueled humans like the previous year. This year William came with us. It was actually his first time ever to go door to door asking strangers for candy. His parents didn't believe in all that jazz when he was a youngster. After Wednesday night's headache, I can totes see why his parents didn't.

We got Adrienne dressed up, then we met our friends. We all piled into one vehicle and headed out into the unknown to the Halloween festivities  The first stop was a jam packed church function that had the jumpy houses, food, and mini games for the kiddos. Adrienne was basically a space cadet, trying to take in as much as possible, not watching where she was going, and mos def not listening. Basically the norm. It was like we were herding squirrels. I mean, you know what I mean. Impossible.

We left that jaunt after our bellies were full and balloon animals were made. We were ready to walk up and down rando streets and tell our kids to run up to doors and demand candy. I haven't been actual trick or treating since I was around eleven. I couldn't even remember what to do. The lights on mean they are handing out candy, right? No? They aren't coming to the door? Bang harder kids!

Towards the end of this holiday night, it was cold, and we didn't have the energy of these kids who we were trying to drag in the right directions. The houses were giving out one piece of candy per kiddo ::blink blink:: and we had had enough. It was time to go home and check the candy basket for the good stuff that we needed to confiscate, because, well, that's our job.

Next year, I'm pretty sure we are just dressing our tiny sized human up and hiding candy in our yard. Like Easter. Sans eggs and headaches. Win. Win.

I put her Mud Pie tutu under the Big Bird costume, making it more puffy. I added a long sleeve pink shirt, hot pink stockings, and her Garanimals hightops. I was pretty pleased with the cuteness.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!
