McMuffin's and Fireworks

July 4th consisted of the usual. The red, white, and blue color theme, fireworks, and McDonald's. Because McDonald's is obvs American. We ate breakfast there, and I found myself quite entertained. The owner (or manager, who knows) was sitting at the table behind us, barking off orders to the swamped employees. This guy must have eaten one too many McGriddles, because he was for sure power tripping. Those sausages sandwiched between pancakes are pretty magical.

One poor cashier couldn't understand the fact that her register's credit machine was down, but the others were still working. She'd tell people they could only take cash if they handed her a card. The owner/manager would scream each time that they could take cards on the other machines, just not at that register. Then he'd huff and puff some more.

He even said, "Go work somewhere else" under his breath. I take that back. It wasn't even under his breath. He kept yelling, "What's wrong with you?" and other power trippy sentences. I had no idea what the heck I was watching. What is this? It was poetic, if you ask me. It was an absolute ish show, and I enjoyed myself. Bravo. Standing ovation. Ba da ba ba ba, I'm lovin' it.

William, on the other hand, was getting stressed out from all the commotion. Either he has worked at McDonald's where he was tramatized from being yelled at in the same manor, or he just doesn't do well with greasy foods in the morning. One may never know. I should, but I don't.

We came home and I got my baking on. My cake didn't turn out like I had anticipated, but it tasted amazing. That's all that really mattered. We headed over to our frand's house, were we did some swimming and hanging out. We had a food buffet of the nomz, but I guess I was too busy stuffing my face to take pictures. It happens.

When it started to get dark, we all loaded up to go watch the fireworks. I was super excited because this was the first time taking Adrienne. When I was young, watching the fireworks was a big deal. They were loud, magnificent, and lasted forever. This was the first year I've watched them where we live now, and I must say, it was a let down.

Maybe I'm too old to enjoy their beauty? Kinda like the Polar Express concept. Maybe I was too rushed, because I know my anxiety level was maxed out by the time we got there. As soon as we pulled up, we zombie walked to our spot and anticipated Adrienne's reaction. They started, and she covered her face. By the fifth one she peeked out and started digging the spectacle. She thought they were "flowers in the sky," and I melted into the grass by her cuteness. They lasted all but twenty minutes tops, with ten of the minutes shooting the same duddy white firework. IN A ROW. It wasn't even a bloom. I was expecting a massive light show in the sky and didn't get it. I'm just glad we didn't have to pay for the viewing. I'd have demanded my monies back.

All in all, it was a good time. A great memory to deposit into the old bank. I adore my family and friends. Much love.
