Owl Baby Shower Invites

I have a few more weeks of planning before I'll be hosting a baby shower for one of my good frands. I've never hosted a shower before, so I'm super nervous. I want everything to be perfect. Like, Pinterest worthy guys.

The very talented Kelly Lauren Designs provided me with the wonderful baby shower cards for the party. They are beautifully handmade. Kelly was also a dream to work with. The original card was brown and pink, seen here. I decided to go all pink, cause that color is where it's at, and she was such a doll in changing the hues. I wish this was my baby shower. I'm nibbling on a small peanut butter and jealousy sammie. ::side eye::

Wish me luck with all the rest of the planning and hecticness (not a word, but I made it one) of preparing this shindig. Oh, and also- how about my site being down all afternoon today thanks to GoDaddy being hacked? I'm torn between being p o'ed and simply amazed.

Pink and white baby shower invites c/o Kelly Lauren Designs. Be sure to check out all of her other amazing invites!

I Fell Asleep Amid The Flowers

So, today I was reading in an old Glamour mag and came across a new nail polish technique. I tried it out and loved the result. If you have some shimmer powder laying around, this is for you.

Pick out a nail polish color of your choice. Me? Revlon in 'Twinkled Pink'. Get a jar of shimmer powder and a makeup brush. I used some ancient Jane shimmer in 'Plutonium' from the early 2000's. What am I doing with ten year old shimmer powder? I. Have. No. Idea. I also used my Sonia Kashuk eye-shadow brush.

Paint two coats of polish on each nail. Dip the makeup brush in the shimmer powder and tap the brush over a nail. Repeat until you have each done. I blew my nails to get the excess shimmer powder off, then let dry for a bit. I topped with a clear coat. Hey-oh. It looks like a tiny pixie sprinkled fairy dust on my nails. You know the kind that live in buttercups? Those flowers that close up at night to house the fairies? No? Just me? O. Good.

Disclaimer: We do not have the best natural lighting in our home. My pictures never come out bright enough.  Grass is always greener.

After seeing so many beautiful ballerina photos, I started thinking how I've always loved the femininity they exude. Here are my top choices to acquire that girly essence.

Pink Ice Dream

One of my favorite notsoexpensive clothing websites is Pink Ice. Their stuff just lasts. I totes dislike it when you buy cheap clothes and four or five wears later they look like rags. I bought dresses four years ago from them that look great today. One, of which, I wear quite frequently. Another hook, line, and sinker is, when you order things from them, they give you Pink Ice Points. You get 5% added to your total to use next time. I have ten dollars in points that I need to use. Another reason to go buy something..
