It's My Potty Party & I Can Cry If I Want To

This weekend we have mastered potty training. I think. Let me knock on wood. It really wasn't the nightmare I was preparing myself for. We tried to start right after she turned two in December. That wasn't happening. So we waited another month and a half. I don't know if there's any sort of rhyme or reason behind potty training. What worked for us was just having the potty in the living room, letting her run around naked, and hoping for the best. When she does teetee or poop in her pink toilet, we do an outrageous dance, followed by letting her flush it down the grownup potty. Flushing is a big deal to her. It's the little things. Then she gets to pick out a sticker and a Skittle of her choice. Rainbow kisses? She haz them.

Anymykidisgrowinguptooflippingfast, I've been in a funk the past day or two. I don't know if it's because of this whole potty training ordeal, or what. I mean, I should be happy and in a great mood. I don't have to shell out money for diapers anymore. On the other hand, this is so bittersweet. My baby is a toddler. I feel so perplexed about it. How could this have happened? Hello. My name is Debbie Downs. Nice to meet you. I know. I know. I am ridic.

When you become a parent, time flies by so quickly. I have always heard that. I would think, yea riiiight. Time would drag by when I was a teen. I was counting down the minutes to get out of middle school, then high school, then college. I didn't think I'd ever be an adult and be on my own. Then, out of nowhere, it happened. Adulthood. What I wanted. UGH. Oh to be a kid in the eighties again, with my pink, glitter jellies. It was such a simpler time. I can't go back, can I? Nope. Now I get to deal with this dreaded time flying away nonsense.

There just aren't enough hours in the day to get things done. Yesterday, before we went to bed, I was telling William how I'm starting to feel guilty about not spending enough time with my child. He said I was being silly. I am a stay at home mom. I do get to be around her all day. Most parents would kill for that opportunity. But, I feel like I am always on my computer. Or doing household chores. You know. The norm?  I feel like I don't play enough with her. And now she's in panties? WTH? She says, "Mommy, pway. Pway, Mommy." I just shoo her away and tell her I'm busy right now. "Ina little bit." What am I doing? At the rate we are going, pretty soon she won't want Mommy to play with her. She won't think I'm cool enough to be seen with her in public. Then she will be moody all the time and won't even want to talk to me. Next, she'll demand to get her belly button pierced and sneak out. What will I do then? I can't even. Can't. Even.

Okay. She isn't going off to college anytime soon. I'm going over board. Enough with me mopping around. How could I when I can look at this all day?

I can't. Tomorrow we will have a major craft sesh with paints and pipe cleaners, bake some cookies, watch a movie, read eight books in a row, and play Barbies til her little heart is content. And anything else she wants. I might be busy tomorrow. So, I'll see you when I see you.

Weekend Wrap Up

DIP
Mexican dip via William's mom. Always hits the spot. We spent this past weekend with his parents and that equals delicious meals and QFT. That's quality fam time, if you didn't get my abbrevs.

MUSIC
Instruments? She plays them. Canvases? She paints them. Artistic kid? Why, yes. Yes I do.

 SNACK
I have been on a avocado kick for a bit now. They're so yummy and filling. I cut mine up and add garlic powder and drizzle balsamic vinegar over. Tah. Die.

SOMETHING I LOVE
E'nuff said. She is wearing a shirt and vest from Old Navy. Owl hat? I know. Adorbs. It's c/o Head Candy. And just wait til I show you what else I scored from them. I'll show you  swoon  soon.

NEW OBSESSION
As you may know, I have a lip balm addiction. A major one. So, I decided to give these tubes of greatness a try. The flavor doesn't make you wanna eat your lips off, and it's not sticky. The best part is my pout stays hydrated to the max. Buhbye Cherry Chapstick. I am now with Baby Lips and we are in love.

SHOES
My Tory Burch Alexandra driving moccasins have gotten some action this week. They've been in hibernation for quite a while. Alas, so have I.

Learning Surcease Disorder

I made that up. I don't even know what it means. I do know that I'm taking the night off. I am too involved in trying to learn Corel Paintshop Pro X2. Can this thing be any harder to learn? I need to sign up for classes just to figure out how to use the crop tool for this ish.

I'm not computer illiterate. I knows my stuffs. I've even had many a photo editing software in my day. But, I've yet to make the leap over to the big dogs. Til now.

I chose this over Photoshop. Paintshop even claimed it was more user friendly. Yea. O.Kay. I'm in a bad photo editing acid trip and can't figure out how to make anything work. Will it ever be over?! One may never know.

Candy and Hearts

Something about vintage greeting cards just appeals to me. Anyhoo, today was great. Our little fashion queen woke up to a little Valentine's happy. Some Little Mermaid jammies? Can't go wrong there. I found a Ty Valentine Bear at our Goodwill a bit ago. It brought back many memories of fighting off other fanatic collectors, while trying to get the latest and greatest beanie baby. I remember hearing that people lined up for days outside the store where they were dropping the Princess Diana Ty Bear. They had police officers guarding the door with tasers and mace in hand. Okay. Fine. I made that part up, but that's how I pictured things. People are cray cray.

Adrienne went to church with her grandparents on Sunday. In her little Sunday School class she made this adorbs stained glass tissue paper heart. And she colored on a heart the teacher drew. I just died from The Cuteness. It's a real ailment. I webMD'ed it. These are my first two things she "came home" with. You know. Stuff I didn't make her do because I wanted the memento.

These are her two first Valentine's from her little kiddo friends! I know. I am a sap. I get it. She is just growing up so fast.

I mean, the last time I checked, she looked like this. Stop the growing kid. Freals.

Happy Valentine's  Day  Night to my beautiful family and wonderful friends.
