Charles River Apparel Giveaway [OVER]

Congrats Rachel B. for winning a Charles River Apparel rain jacket of your choice! A big thank you for everyone else who entered my giveaway!

Charles River Apparel

I'm super excited to share a brand new GIVEAWAY with you guys! I've teamed up with Charles River Apparel to offer Coffee and Cashmere readers the chance to win an amazing New Englander Rain Jacket! These rain jackets come in both women's and men's sizes with plenty of color choices. I picked out the aqua/reflective combo and William chose the taupe/navy jacket. We are pretty fancy.

Let me just tell you, these rain jackets are perfect. They are water and wind proof for cooler seasons, and they're lined with mesh to allow airflow during the hotter seasons. The New Englander Rain Jackets are also sleek and trim. Not being too heavy, yet not being too light weight, they're just the perfect mix of protection for any unscheduled rain storms.

Now for your chance to win a New Englander Rain Jacket in your size and choice of color from Charles River Apparel, just log into the Rafflecopter below (or make a new Rafflecopter account), and follow the directions for each entry. Please make sure to actually do what's required for each entry. If you just click enter and not do what it's asking, I'll know. If you are unsure how to do one, skip it and contact me. I can't stress this enough. I go back and check to make sure the winner actually did what was required. I will not let cheaters win. DON'T CHEAT. Meh.

Happy Friday, my lovers! It's a gorgeous day in my neighborhood, even though the wind is a little brisk and you may need Mr. Rogers' snazzy sweater. Another thing you also need is Matilda Jane clothing. If you have no idea what Matilda Jane is, and you are living under a dirty old rock, go here to read a previous post of mine where I explain.

Anyhoo, Matilda Jane sent Adrienne another ridiculously cute outfit, this time from their It's A Wonderful Parade collection.

Bottom line, Matilda Jane is a gorgeous little girl's clothing line that specializes in whimsical prints and tons of ruffles. They also have absolutely adorable outfits for that awkward tween age group and even a line geared for us mamas.

Okay, guys. I've teamed up with the amazing Matilda Jane yet again to offer one lucky reader a chance to win a $50 gift card!

Burlap Bunny

Since Easter is right around the corner, I thought I would share the burlap bunny door hanger I made last week. It was super easy to whip up and cost me nothing since I already had all the supplies!

Burlap Bunny Door Hanger
|| supplies needed ||
- Burlap (about 1 yard)
- Paint (white, pink, and black)
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun
- Plastic Grocery Bags
- Tan Twine
- Tulle or Ribbon for Bow
- Florist Wire

- Cut out the shape of a bunny (or a flower or whatever you want your door hanger to be) from the burlap. Lay the bunny shape on the remaining burlap and cut out another shape for the bunny's back.

- Paint the whole front bunny shape white. Let dry. Paint pink on the insides of the ears. I used black puffy paint for his eyes and mouth, but regular black paint would work just fine. Let dry.

- Cut out a little nose from the burlap scraps. Paint it pink (don't glue it on to the bunny yet, even though my photos above show it already on there). Paint little pink cheeks on the bunny. Let dry. Hot glue the ends of twine to where the nose would be above the mouth. Glue the burlap nose on top of the twine.

- Start hot-gluing around the edges of the front and back pieces of the bunny. Go all around the ears and both sides of the head. I stopped when I had just enough of a pocket to start stuffing grocery store bags in it. Stuff a ton of bags in the bunny's ears and head, or until desired fullness. Hot-glue the bottom of the head all the way up.

- I used florist wire to make a hook on the back of the bunny to hang. I also made a big bow out of Tulle for the bow. And finished.

These burlap door hangers are pretty expensive around my town. A smaller one goes for about $40 or so. Yowza. I'm pretty proud of my free bunny, ohandplusalso my crafting skills.

Please disregard my dead ferns. I promise I just bought new ones after I took these photos. I don't have the best timing. Or green thumbs for that matter.

Bird's Nest Cookies Revisited

It's finally April 1st! But I'm not going to have any April Fool's jokes for you guys. I don't like all that nonsense. Ohandplusalso, this is officially my birthday month! ::fist bumps::

Since I want to go run outside and scream I LOVE APRIL and feel the warm spring sun on my face, I'm stopping in real quick only to share this yummy recipe. I blogged about these bird's nest cookies a few years ago. They are pretty much the perfect treat for both spring and Easter. Hey-oh!

Easter Buns

Here comes the obligatory and adorably awkward Easter Bunny shot. My Cadbury egg is melting from the cuteness below.

I also have a question that might also be a concern. Why don't Easter bunnies talk like Santa? What the eff? They are already creepy looking enough. And then they just look at you and wave? No hello? No goodbye? Just hand gestures for you kiddos. Adrienne had been so desperately wanting to tell him/her? the Easter Bunny about the spaceship she wants (my kid's expectations are high). I guess it didn't really matter that the Easter Bunny didn't talk. Adrienne stiffened right up and didn't move a hair when it was our turn. She was like a taxidermied kid that I had to position on the bunny's lap.

I ended up taking my own photos, because let's be honest, I refuse to pay 21 dollars for two lame photos the Easter elf? woman, who hates her life, snaps. My kid isn't even looking at the camera, lady. No, I don't want your crap photo.

Adrienne was also glued to her daddy's hip during our outing. From wanting him to ride the carousel with her, to him getting to ride in the caboose of the train, to wanting to sit next to him at lunch, they were pretty tight. She kept exclaiming that they were "best fwends." I was just the photog.

We also got to visit with our dear frands and their new baby. We really just went to pretend see them, but our main goal was to love on that little babeh boy. And goodness if the fever didn't set in. He was so perfect in every way. I pretty much wanted to kidnap him, but then I thought about how our two frands deserved all the greatness of that little being. And I won't have to change any diapers anytime soon. So it's pretty much a win slash win situation.

Mama May I

Adrienne is ahead of the game. I'm not even being biased. Her pediatrician said that she is way beyond a four year comprehension level. And she just turned three. She can count to twenty in Spanish, counts to fifty in English, recites and can also write out her ABC's, can spell and write her name, and knows where she lives. And she is a boss at the Subway Surfers app. Those are just a few of the things off the top of my head. Just give me the teacher of the year award now.

I couldn't really accept that trophy, though. I haven't even begun to actually "teach" her. She has basically picked up those things by herself. I have never ingrained anything. I focus more on fun. Like spelling her name out in a song. Or drawing pictures with letters. Being three should be all rainbows and unicorns. All. the. time. Okay. It really isn't. It's sunshine and glitter, like, less than half of the time. The other half deals with tantrums. And time outs. And lots of wine for me.

Since we are talking about schoolin' kids, let's talk about toys that teach. Mama May i, a company who specializes in learning toys, sent Adrienne a Chick A Dee play set. I am totally big on wooden toys. If you are an avid reader of my blog, you know that. I love how simplistic wooden toys are, but can hold a child's imagination longer than a plastic toy that yaps. Amiright or am I right? Right.

My child literally played with this bird and his bowl of eggs for an hour straight. The first thing she did was get her Little People fairy playhouse out, because it had a tree for the bird to nest in. Makes since. See? My kid is a genius. Then she hid the little eggs around the house and made the grown up kids, aka her parents, find them. If I would have known a little stuffed bird and wooden eggs would keep her so entertained, I'd have gotten some sooner. The more you know. I guess.

Mama May i has so many colorful wooden toys to choose from. Like this Fairy Friends set, which comes in all the different colors of the rainbow. How adorable is that? We adopt fairies on the reg and are always on the look out for new fairy habitats.

If you like the concept of Montessori teaching, you will love Mama May i. If you'd like to purchase any of these durable handmade toys, make sure to use the coupon code that's specially for Coffee and Cashmere readers. That's YOU. Enter CANDC at checkout for 15% off your total purchase (excluding shipping).

Now you really don't have any excuse not to do some online shopping. Get your Valentine's and Easter stuffers in one swoop or kill two birds with one stone.

Those puns were totes intended.
