Bird's Nest Cookies Revisited

It's finally April 1st! But I'm not going to have any April Fool's jokes for you guys. I don't like all that nonsense. Ohandplusalso, this is officially my birthday month! ::fist bumps::

Since I want to go run outside and scream I LOVE APRIL and feel the warm spring sun on my face, I'm stopping in real quick only to share this yummy recipe. I blogged about these bird's nest cookies a few years ago. They are pretty much the perfect treat for both spring and Easter. Hey-oh!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Oh, Tuesday. You are rainy and gloomy and you're making me want to pass smooth out in my bed. But convincing my three-year-old to nap with me is like trying to sell a root canal to a grown up. Not going to happen.

Andplusalso, it's finally fall, and the weather isa changing. Matter of fact, it's even chilly in my house. Like, I'm on the verge of putting a big comfy sweatshirt and fleece pajama pants on. That helps during the freezing months when our electric bill is crazy expensive. I kid. I have no clue how much anything costs. I just assume gas is free on Fridays.

I do know that I have a delicious dish for you guys today. AND it's spicy. Perfect to warm up your insides. William's sister's husband brought this dish to our last shindig, and I practically held him hostage until he gave up the recipe. And now I'm sharing the goods with you.

Buffalo Chicken Dip
|| ingredients ||
2 (8oz) Cream Cheese
1 cup Ranch Dressing
3/4 cup Frank's Red Hot
2 (10oz) cans of Chicken Breast
1/2 bag shredded Cheddar Cheese

- Heat cream cheese, ranch, and Frank's in a Crock Pot or in a large pot on the stove. Heat on low and stir frequently. After it's melted pretty well, add chicken and cheddar cheese. Continue to melt until smooth. Serve with chips!

Side note: This recipe is doubled and makes a good bit. Enough to feed a small party. If you'd like to half the dish, change the Frank's to 1/2 a cup and half everything else.

Swim Party

How amazing are those cups of "dirt" with the flowers? They are really cups of cake, chocolate ice cream, and crushed up Oreos. Bam. They were a perfect treat on a hot day.

And Adrienne and her little buddy? I just straight up passed out from the cuteness.

Rice Krispie Ice Cream Cones

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend! We for sure did. It consisted of everything bunny related. Natch.

I wanted to stop in and share this recipe for Rice Krispie ice cream cones. I made them for my child's first birthday, and the pictures are from then. Sorry they aren't super profesh. I was a beginner.

Rice Krispie Ice Cream Cones
|| ingredients ||
Kid Size Ice Cream Cones (in the ice cream cone section of Walmart)
Melting Chocolate or Almond Bark
Sprinkles (optional)
Cherry Sours (for the cherries, obvs.)
1 batch of Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treats (use the recipe on the box)
M&M's

- Take out the cones and put enough M&M's to weight them down. Toppled Rice Krispie cones aren't attractive.

- Make the Rice Krispie treats according to the instructions on the box. Allow to cool after you have poured the mix in a large bowl. When they are cool enough to handle, spray a cookie scoop with Pam. Or, you can just use your hands like I did. I sprayed my hands with cooking oil. Get a small scoop and stuff it onto the cone.

- Melt the chocolate or almond bark. I just used a spoon and drizzled the candy over the Rice Krispies. Add the cherry to the top! Easy Peasy. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.

Hello Kitty Ears

I wanted to pop in real quick this Monday morning to share the party favors from my child's second birthday party. Her theme was Hello Kitty, because no one can ever go wrong with Hello Kitty.

I used red and white felt and a package of headbands from the Dollar Tree. I cut out shapes for the ears and bows. Then red strips for the middle of the bows. I hot glued the ears to the headband and the bow to one of the ears. They turned pretty darn cute if I say so myself.

This would also be a great craft session for a little girl's sleepover. Which we will have to subject ourselves to one day.

An Owl Baby Shower

I, and two of my other frands, hosted a baby shower a few months ago. Okay, who am I kidding? I'm behind on so many things. The party was more like five months ago. Don't judge.

Whenever I plan parties, I end up being a stressed out loon by the time they're over. I need to start enjoying myself and learn that perfection isn't real. Take the photos for instance. While I was snapping pictures at the shower, I didn't even notice there was a huge smudge on my camera lens. Nor did I notice not a thing was in focus during the opening of presents. ::sad trombone:: No perfection here.

Anyneedingphotographylessonsasap, here are some of the photos of the baby shower. The mother to be looked lovely and enjoyed herself. That's all that really mattered.

Enough obligatory food shots. Here are a few photos of actual people. Like how cute is the grandmother-to-be holding up string during one of the games?
